Denver! Denver! Denver! Denver! Denver! Denver!
The Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting is getting fairly raucous. When the motion to fully seat Florida's delegation failed, the crowd started shouting: "Denver! Denver! Denver!" The debate is being constantly interrupted by heckling. But Alice Munro, speaking in the debate over giving the Florida delegates half-votes, called for unity. After having supported the first motion, Munro said: "The world's not perfect, but it's good. What this party needs is unity." Ickes echoed her sentiments.
The motion to give the Florida delegates half votes passed with 27 yes votes.

What a crock of you know what!
I'm not voting come November....they screwed Hillary, so let's see what McCain can do.
The real crock was that they compromised with Hillary and her ethics flunking supporters.
Hillary agreed and signed on the dotted line to strip MI and FL of all their delegates.
She stated publically that the votes would not count.
NOW this seating of half the delegates is a huge compromising gift from Obama to Hillary and her supporters.
TO STICK TO THE RULES WOULD HAVE MEANT NO DELEGATES!!!
SO HILLARY SUPPORTERS SHOULD FEEL LUCKY THAT HER MANIPULATION WAS LISTENED TO AT ALL!!!!!

The Florida people should really be criticizing their state legislature and Gov. Crist for this mess, not the DNC and the Obama campaigns. HRC agreed to abide by the rules but changed her position when she was trailing Obama. What irks me is that the Clinton supporters are willing to either take this to the convention or vote for McCain. One point is certain from all of this: the Clinton campaigners underestimated the level of organization in Obama's campaign and thought that they were going to have the nomination handed to them on a platter.
But I say two things to Clinton supporters who either want to take this to the convention or vote for McCain. A fractured party at the convention will weaken whoever the nominee will be in the general election. Most of you who support Clinton undoubtedly are vehemently opposed to the current administration. Do you really want a third Bush term in a McCain presidency? A McCain presidency will also guarantee a decidely rightward bent on the Supreme Court and you can kiss Roe v Wade goodbye.
Second, those of you supporting Clinton who will now support McCain should really evaluate where he stands on the issues. His campaign has already claimed that they will try to appeal to voters on guns, religion, and gay marriage (i.e., culture/values issues). And some of you may feel strongly about these things. However, McCain has been trying to position himself as a non-polarizing candidate. Nevertheless, I would be incredibly cautious in casting a vote for McCain on the grounds that he has already suggested that his knowledge of economics is weak and that admission alone should draw scrutiny. The next president will be under pressure to create jobs inventively: having a permanent war economy, as McCain envisions we should have, will not help us financially and will be a drain on our infrastructure. The war is no doubt partly responsible for high oil prices which are putting ordinary Americans at risk. Passions are high right now on the Florida and Michigan delegate issues but we have to look towards November. There is no need to make hasty decisions.

Anyone who abstains or votes for McCain because Hilary is going back on her word, trying any way in the world to get into the office, deserves what they would get. Sheesh.
