McCain ≠ Bush Becomes Harder With Discovery of New Quotes

Liberal bloggers spend a fair amount of time pointing out that John McCain is a lot like George W. Bush. But now two quotes have emerged in which John McCain himself argues he's a lot like George W. Bush, making his task of distancing himself from the President that much harder.

Quote 1, June 2005, Meet the Press:

RUSSERT: The fact is you are different than George Bush.
SEN. McCAIN: No. No. I–the fact is that I’m different but the fact is that I have agreed with President Bush far more than I have disagreed. And on the transcendent issues, the most important issues of our day, I've been totally in agreement and support of President Bush.

Quote 2, May 2003, Your World with Neil Cavuto:

"The president and I agree on most issues. There was a recent study that showed that I voted with the president over 90 percent of the time, higher than a lot of my even Republican colleagues."

I mean, c'mon. This isn't hard. McCain once said of Bush, ""[H]e has more than earned our support. He has earned our admiration and our love." Bush reportedly supported McCain in the Republican primary because McCain was "best to carry forth his agenda."

McCain's attempts to distance himself from Bush aren't just an uphill climb. They're an uphill climb with a monkey on his back and one of these tied to his leg.

Democrats, I strongly advise you to stop wasting your time running against a guy who ISN'T the Republican candidate! Running against a guy who can Never BE the president of the United States, after the 2008 election is over!

Keep in mind, Bush is a turd the Democrats couldn't manage to flush in TWO attempts when he WAS the candidate!
Once AFTER he'd started a VERY controversial war and was known to be spying on American citizens without warrants and ignoring huge portions of the Bill of Rights.

Sure..., we know him. We despise him, but while the Democratic know-it-alls are busy running a campaign against Bush, CERTAIN they can beat 'him' if they try just One More Time..., JOHN McCAIN is going to be out there winning enough votes to be the next prez.

I honestly believe John McCain is having a hard time accepting his place in the information age. He still seems to believe he can simply deny having said this or that, and, oblivious to YouTube, etc., that no one will remember, or point out his hypocrisy.

btw - good comment above...though I don't think McCain, or any Republican for that matter, could gather "enough" votes this year - not without help from the ballot machines.

See, McCain is proud of being just like Bush, then wonders why people call him McBush and McSame. Gee, if McCain wasn't so senile, he would know he is McBush and will be McSame.

To Who's the CANDIDATE,

Your rambling post makes you sound just like Senator McCane. It makes no sense, talks about different things as if they are the same and has no basis in logic. Keep yelling at those clouds along with your candidate.

Boy, Matthew, a dose of historical fact must be a hard pill for you to swallow..., if it doesn't show the Democrats in a glowing, heavenly light, 'eh?

So hard to swallow that you'll overlook any unsavory bit and every distasteful bit of it (such as my commentary about Bush being a turd the Dem's couldn't manage to flush in TWO attempts..., Bush trashing the Bill of Rights, etc.) in order to paint ANYONE who doesn't hop blindly onboard the Obama bandwagon as, obviously, "A 'McBush' Supporter".
The old: "All those who aren't 100% WITH me are 100% AGAINST Me!" mindset.
(IOW: A CLOSED-Mind)

Sorry.
That shoe doesn't fit this foot, and poster 'nic' was estute enough to grasp my point, realizing that just because something wasn't praiseful of Obama & the Dems it wasn't necessarily supportive of McCain & the Repubs.

Please, Try READING what I wrote again, and tell me EXACTLY which part suggests that you should vote for McCain?

The candidate is Barack Obama. The appointed "has been" is Bush. McCain is McBush and McSame, and hasn't a ghost of a chance of keeping another Bush administration going for another 4 years; people are too fed up with what the REPUBLICANS have done to our economy, the endless terrorism war, etc.

The problem with the Democratic Party has been and still is the Republican DLC infiltrators playing like real leftys and voting with the right on all votes that matter, like Lieberman. Obama apparently is not going along with the DLC, Democratic Leadership Council, that was started by Republican lobbyists to divide the Democratic Party.

Barack Obama is pulling the Democratic Party back together and has moved the Democratic National Committee headquarters to Chicago, which is a great idea.

The quote above was from a Tim Russert interview with McCain. Tim managed to get the truth out, but Tim Russert passed away the evening of Friday 13th. It is going to be difficult dealing with Sunday Mornings from now on without him, because for years we have always watched Tim Russert on "Meet the Press" without fail. I really do not know anyone in the media who will do as good a job of interviewing political candidates as Tim Russert did. God bless him. I am sure he is in heaven with the angels.

I believe Dick Cheney has been serving John McCain his brew of Kool-Aid in the White House. It's Alice in Bagdad all over again. Watching McCain on TV is like being transported back to the 50's with Ozzie & Harriet, Father Knows Best and Leave It To Beaver. Everytime he says, "My friends" I wish he would just say "Boys and girls" and get on with it. This is about as progressive as it gets with the Republicans in the 21st century. And they have the audacity to criticize Obama? I guess that's the "old" audacity. Golly gee, Obama! You're goin' to the White House!

ACCEPTING FOREIGN CAMPAIGN DONATIONS ARE HIGH TREASON
Any crooked governmental official, such as Podhoretz Neo-Con Bush, who accepts a political campaign donation from a foreign power is categorically guilty of treason; and justly deserves the capital punishment, if the donation illegally causes the loss of American lives.
