Bush Trips Up McCain on Offshore Drilling
Yesterday, John McCain gave a speech announcing that he is reversing his position on offshore drilling: he's now strongly in favor.
Today, in a move that must have Rick Davis and Charlie Black pulling their hair out, President Bush will publicly proclaim his support for McCain's idea. President Bush should have to refund the McCain campaign for all the money it spent on these ads.
Update: This is putting McCain-supporting Florida Republicans, all of whom opposed offshore drilling, in an awkward position.
Comments
The left hand should be shaking the right, but they don't know what each other is doing. And once again, Florida is getting screwed...I mean drilled.
MarthaA: That won't happen if Jeb and Dubya have their way as far as Florida coast drilling is concerned.
You see, just like Ted Kennedy and the wind generators, they OPPOSE it happening around where THEY happen to live.

McBush is a flip flopper. Nothing has changed to cause such a flip flop, but that is McBush -- McBush says whatever he is told, but makes the mistake of thinking for himself now and then, and he shouldn't do that, because he knows he is going to change his mind just as soon as his handlers tell him what he is thinking.
McBush didn't have any money for his campaign, it was in the news that he had no money, so he ended up signing with the FCC for public funds, then just ignored the fact that he had signed for public funds when corporation started giving him money. He chose public funds because he had no money, then when corporations gave him money he took their money thinking he could take their money as well -- taking from both sides, the right and the left. Now John "McBush" McCain is trying to blame the fact that he signed with the FCC to use strictly public funds on someone other than himself. No one twisted his arm to sign for public funds, that was his choice. McCain is pathetic -- no way could he be president of the United States. McCain is always flip-flopping and trying to reverse his decisions, but his public funds FCC decision will probably have to stand. I really do not believe he can just change it after he signed and received their funds.
