Obama, Clinton Slowly Coming Together, or Cash Heals All Wounds
Is anyone surprised? This is how you make friends in Washington.
Senators Obama and Clinton met yesterday and came away with clear messages for their respective supporters. Obama said: Dear donors, please help Sen. Clinton retire her campaign debt. I will lead the way by writing a $2,300 check to her, and will have my wife do the same.
Clinton had the natural response: Dear donors, we must elect Barack Obama. Please donate to him.
And with that, everything is peachy. Conversations about Clinton as VP, or a Clinton surrogate as VP, have been tabled for a later date, or perhaps forever. The pair will campaign together today in the town of Unity, New Hampshire. Both the candidate and the ex-candidate are insisting they expect to have a wonderful time. It was that simple.

Wow – why should people help bail out Hillary? She ran over budget – it’s her problem. I’m just glad that she will not have the opportunity to do the same to the federal budget.
I just hope that this does not extend into bailing out other financially moronic individuals such as all those with the McMansions they can’t afford or people who are running up their credit card debt.
It would be devestating to think that Senator & Former First Lady Clinton, and her Former President Husband Bill might have to tap into their OWN personal fortune to pay the debts incurred in Hillary's National Ego Trip.
It is, however, nice to learn that Senator Obama wears the pants in HIS family, and tells his wife how much to spend and where to spend it.

I don't have a problem so much with him helping to bail out her debt, since it is common practice. I do have a problem with her donors acting like they own the world. When they are not pressuring Obama to use his email list to ask regular people to retire Clinton's debt, you those wealthy individuals that contributed $50 or less, they are pressuring him about HRC as VP. This is very depressing. Between HRC's donors and the fracture groups (i.e. PUMA, Hillaryis44), Obama is facing a battle between Republicans and Democrats.
I'm starting to wonder if he is crazy to deal with this people at all. I mean, this is nutz. The election is just 4 months away, and all they can think about is HRC's debt? Give me a break. She clearly spent money that she didn't have to win a race that was impossible to win. And now her supporters are brow beating Obama to handle her mistakes.
Ehh, you can have these people.

Sen Obama has made it clear he will not ask his base of small donors to contribute. I attended the fund raiser in Los Angeles this week and the Clinton fund raisers who attended were supportive and enthusiastic in their efforts and will contribute a great deal to Sen Obama's election

I don't understand what Obama thinks giving her more money will accomplish.
In the first place when things were getting tough late in the campaign she all but spit on him. People said her tactics were like something out of Karl Rove's playbook.
"Shame on you Obama".. condescending [deleted]..
So he doesn't owe her anything.
Second thing is the Clinton's have money and plenty of corporate donors.
Last and the maybe the biggest bone to pick is just how much money is blown on this skewered excuse for a campaign!
The media selected these candidates and dismissed others (Kucinich then Edwards) that actually did represent progressive change.
Elitist? Yea maybe..
I wouldn't give either one of them a damn dime.

Why did George Bush (the elder) and Ronald Reagan suddenly pop into mind?
Bush using the phrase "Voodoo Economics" to describe Reagan's economic proposals during the primaries..., then later, as Reagan's running mate saying: "We sat down, he explained it all to me and now I'm 100% behind his plan."
"Politics" or "Bullshit"?
And is there a difference?

Obama is doing the politicialy expedient thing. The only problem is that Clinton cannot deliver all her supporters with all the "choreography" and all the gesturing and lip service she is forcing herself to make. Her candidacy goes beyond her person. Anti-Obama blogs are popping up like mushrooms and there's not a lot she can do about it. This election may end up being far more democratic than anybody bargained for.
