Will Rove Show?
Karl Rove has already gone on TV to blab about the Justice Department's prosecution of former Alabama governor Don Siegelman. Now, the House Judiciary Committee just wants him to come up the Hill to talk to Congress. The committee was nice enough to include a subpoena with its invitation. Tomorrow, the Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law will assemble in the Dirksen Office Building at 10 a.m. to see of Rove actually shows up. His lawyer has basically told Judiciary Committee chair John Conyers to fuck off, Rove's not coming. The legendary political consultant has already dissed the Senate Judiciary Committee, looking into similar matters, so the odds of anything exciting happening tomorrow aren't worth the trip up Independence Avenue for the live show. But Conyers has shown a little more moxie than his colleagues in the Senate. He's already suggested that if Rove isn't sitting in front of him tomorrow morning, he will take further legal action to compel his testimony, which he's done for other recalcitrant White House witnesses. It's entirely possible that Rove will one day, years from now, have to sit in the congressional hot seat. The question, of course, is whether anyone will still care what he has to say?

Yes, John Conyers does indeed seem have to have more moxie, than his colleagues.
I for one, am disgusted with the spinelessness of this New Democratic Majority. Yes, they have been filabustered by the Republicans on every front, and yes they do indeed seem to cave in.
George Bush is one of the least popular presidents in history with negligible clout on anything. Yet, he seems to repeatedly get what he wants.
He got it when the Republicans were in control and darn, he is getting his way now with the democrats.
That's why, while I believe John Conyers may be well intended, karl Rove can essentially flip them off.
They'll issue their contempt citation, karl Rove will ignore it, and the whole group of newly elected spineless legislators will do nothing.
I would be so happy to eat these words and I sure hope that it happens, but I won't hold my breath.
They better arrest his ass and throw him in jail. He's a criminal, he should be treated like one. Bush too.
I hope Obama has some balls and does something about these assholes. If he does, you'll see American prestige shoot up around the globe.

LIBERAL = CHANGE
CONSERVATIVE = NO CHANGE

The subpoena was sent,finally,because Rove simply ignored their requests.Like everyone else connected to this rogue administration,he has nothing but contempt for the laws of our land,and indeed,feels that he is above the law.He obviously is,because if he didn"t have connections to the Bush regime,he"d be in jail right now.

Ouch Martha that's a dangerous definition! I don't want change from sensible budgets, fiscal awareness, regulation against predation, sane diplomacy, and the excise of corruption from office (if that were the case.) CONSERVATIVE often equals change as well. Personally, my definition of LIBERAL is one who TRIES to perceive the greater good and act in ways that will not damage society. LIBERALS want to be wealthy just as much as CONSERVATIVES, but aren't as willing to exploit, maim and kill in order to achieve it. Change is a scary word if you like the way things are. If conservatives actually wanted to conserve anything besides their own personal wealth, things would change quickly. It seems they lack the ability to perceive the ends of their means.

Arrest the War Criminal Rove.
Send him to Gitmo for a little dose of enhanced interrogation techniques such as beating his lower extremities to pulpification or some friendly waterboarding.
