"I Got Your Pledge of Allegiance RIGHT HERE"
Back before he went all crazy and started going pink-faced crazy on people at campaign events, Bill Clinton was pretty good at handling hecklers. It's one of those random skills you have to learn if you're going to run for president, I guess.
Well, Obama took a fairly novel approach to a heckler on Tuesday. He just gave the guy what he wanted. Check it out.

Since when do town hall meetings start with the pledge of allegiance?
This guy gave a great photo op for Obama, who was clearly standing up, and reciting the pledge.
He also did a great job exposing the producers and believers of viral myths (Obama is a secret Muslim/who won't salute the flag/who hates America/who's relatives are all in jail or welfare queens) as spastic, ignorant goofballs.
Thank you spastic goofball guy.
Brilliant. Have we ever had a presidential candidate this intelligent?

That guy was f'ing nutjob. Elecmentary school is the ONLY place I've ever been where things start with the pledge. No town hall meeting, city council meeting, school board meeting, or anything else I've been to ever started with the pledge. Would that stupid nutjob have done the same at a McCain event? Does McCain start with the pledge?

If you've ever been to the South, anything public, except maybe Sunday school classes, start with the Pledge.

What a freak show. They're going to find out later that that guy has either a] developed one of those brain tumors that turns normal people crazy mean a few months before they die unexpectedly or b]has been building bombs in his basement for 'The Militia', a group of four men he has been leading since developing his brain tumor a few months ago.
Smooth handling, Obama, but would have been tempting to put the guy in his place. When democracy caves to zealot pseudo-patriots, you lose something important.
