The Emboldening of the American Media
This AP article is already earning plaudits all over:
His top contenders are said to include Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Less traditional choices mentioned include former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, an abortion-rights supporter, and Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Democratic vice presidential prick in 2000 who now is an independent.

I hope Obama picks Bayh or a Sebelius - I mean, the Hillary supporters need a woman, don't they? I mean, Kathleen Sebelius was never publicly embarrassed by her husband or lied about taking fire in an airplane, but it ought be OK for the fans of the Hill.
As for McCain, he'll pick Romney. Old Mitt will make a great attack dog. That seems to be all McCain has gong for him. That and abortion.
Bayh is one of Indiana's two Republican Senators. He's the more 'Neocon' of the two.
The other one being Dick Lugar, and if Barack intends to choose a Republican running mate like Bayh (proud co-sponsor of the 2003 Iraq War resolution and chairman of the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq), Lugar might actually make a better choice, given his long-time involvement in foreign policy.
Bayh's particular expertise?
None that I'm aware of.
Indiana produced a vice president not that long ago. I hope the Nation doesn't have to endure that again.
I don't know what we could come up with for bumper stickers, and "HEAE: Hoosiers Embarrassed About Evan" doesn't have the humor value that "Hoosiers Embarrassed About Dan" offered.

And in todays news:
McCain takes 5-point lead over Obama
Poll: Republican seen as a stronger manager of the economy
updated 8:31 a.m. ET, Wed., Aug. 20, 2008
WASHINGTON - In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.
McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll.
And in the final analysis, America will elect a DemoPublican or a RepubliCrat, and the biggest Change we'll notice will be the nameplate on the Oral Office door.
That's the "Change You Can Believe In!
