On Right-Wingers Going Crazy...
Two notes on Kevin's observation that right wing writers are descending into hilarious self-caricature as Obama pulls ahead in the polls.
(1) Kevin notes that the right wing blog The Corner is now posting about "Obama being a secret Maoist." He's not kidding. Here's an actual quote, written with high seriousness: "[Obama] fits comfortably with Ayers, who (especially now) is more Maoist than Stalinist." And, no, they aren't kidding. It makes me wonder: as someone who now wants the federal government to own America's bad mortgages, what kind of communist is John McCain?
(2) The right wing isn't just becoming more and more divorced from reality as their electoral prospects worsen. It's also becoming more racist and more susceptible to crazy conspiracy theories. One of them is actually claiming, sans evidence, that Bill Ayers ghost wrote Dreams of My Father.
Like I said yesterday, this is going to get hilarious before it's over.

Is this conversation about Barack's pronunciation of Pakistan too funny to be pathetic or too pathetic to be funny? Oh well. It stuck out to me in the debate, as well, but only because I thought: "Oh right, that's how it sound when it's said correctly." Sheesh.
I guess "that one" really IS exotic.
I guess non of you people ever saw the way the libs were acting outside the Republican Nat'l Convention..?
THey were a seething bunch of freaks..!!!
The fringe always acts that way. Stop trying to be so honorable.
Libs are nothing but the other side of whacked..!!!

Getting beat up by the cops charged to "protect and serve" has that effect on people, Bill. Sadly, I didn't get to see them because there were no TV cameras allowed outside your convention.
Drill, baby, Drill!...right to China
(and bring back our capital while you're there).
Perhaps your Grand Ole Party should choose a better method of selecting a Veep candidate than descending order of IQ. Then they wouldn't need to spend the last month of the election walking in Turdblossom's gutter.
As for "pallin' around with terrorists"...how about the Bush family and that Bandahar boy from the country that REALLY supports terrorism. I know he's not a DOMESTIC terrorist, but I think the point still applies.

Good grief. Listen to McCain for minute if you wanna hear crazy: I know how to get Osama, I know how to fix the economy, I know how to win in Iraq, I knpw how to deal with Russia, I'll stop Iran's nuclear program. I mean, come off it! If the man's not lying, then why the hell isn't he doing any of this? He could actually make Bush look good just by giving one of these to Cheney. Hell, I'd vote for him if he actually did something, but where the hell has he been with all his wisdom all this time? And one more thing, what's he going to do if he loses the election, sit on all his great plans and ideas until the next election? "America first," cow cookies! Our soldiers are dying, aand he has a plan to stop it but he's not going to let anybody know it unless he's elected? Baaa ram ewe.

McCain/Palin bring back memories of the way the Nazi's went after the Jews and everyone else that they could blame and confiscate their money. This is a dangerous behavior from these supposed candidates who are going to "lead" America. Being a little older, I remember people acting like this with the racial hatred, etc. during the civil rights movement. The Republican base has all the earmarks of people who are terribly frightened. Are they really afraid of a man who will do the "right thing". There are so many crimiinal actions within this particular administration and their associates that I think they are afraid of being found out and prosecuted. Phil Gramm, McCain's best friend, was the architect of the "open market" deregulation model that put our country behind this financial eight ball. Gramm snuck (a polite word) the Moderization act of 2000 through the House after changing the wording from the Senate version. This wonderful bill included "the Enron loophole" and a few other goodies. Gramm was originally elected from TX as a Democrat but was found to be taking the inside information from the Democrats to the Republicans. He then ran in TX as a Republican and won. This man was head of the Banking committe and changed many of the rules that have allowed our financial collapse. His wife was a CEO of Enron Corporation and was former head of the CFTC which has allowed the trading of oil commodities without oversite. They gave exemption after exemption to ICE while they were trading oil futures without any reporting in London - exactly when the price started going up! The man running the CFTC at present is the same lawyer who worked for Senator Gramm and helped "push" through the Moderization Act of 2000. If McCain knows how to get Osama Bin Laden then why the hell hasn't he done it or told his "good friend" Petrais. If I hear that little angry worm say "my friends" one more time I'll have to scream.

So is the book guy just lying about all of the facts he is listing? I mean, I really couldn't give a damn either way in terms of my opinion of Obama, but the "evidence" would seem pretty damning if it were true. I'm curious whether anybody knows the answers on this one.

On top of all the stresses, negative campaigning is stressful to the voters. How many careers have been destroyed by people just throwing crap out there and seeing if it sticks....I think that we as a civilized society should start making the neysayers accountable.
