Throw the Bums Out (of Detroit)
Let's say you're three auto industry executives summoned to Washington to explain why you deserve billions of dollars in taxpayer money. You and your cronies have mismanaged your industry for years, but luckily for you and unluckily for the country too many parts of the economy rely on your continued existence. You watched AIG executives get strafed in the media for throwing lavish corporate retreats (with spa trips!) just after taking bailout funds. You know the public is hyper-sensitive to signs of waste, because middle class Americans are struggling to get by and it's their money you're seeking.
So what do you do? You take separate private jets from Detroit to Washington. You take three flights at an estimated cost of $20,000 each, despite the fact that coach flights are available for under $300 and first class flights are available for under $1,000.
You spend $60,000 when you could have spent $900. And then you go to Congress with your hand out.
Jesus H. Christ. Bailout funds for the industry should be contingent on new leadership taking over and old leadership being put in stocks.

And when asked how many of them had plans to sell those corporate jets, none of them did.
3 multi-millionaires fly into DC on their private jets, and hold out their tin cups for our money to save them from their own poor management and greed; only in America.

Out of the Crisis
by W. Edwards Deming
"Long-term commitment to new learning and new philosophy is required of any management that seeks transformation. The timid and the fainthearted, and the people that expect quick results, are doomed to disappointment."
Now, the fact that he wrote this book in 1986 is what is most interesting.
Let ‘em rot and let those cry-baby-union-morons all rust in the strip clubs of Detroit. I have been in the manufacturing industry for 15 years and UAW workers are without a doubt the laziest, least intelligent, least motivated, least educated and least productive workers I have ever experienced. And the highest paid.
Ha, ha, ha, ha to them. They aren't fit for a McDonalds.

It's blackmail. Give us the money or we'll fire 3 million people. Oh, and leave our perks alone or we won't take your money. This deal only Dems would be stupid enough to take. And they will.

You beat me to it Coleman. How much per year does it cost to own and maintain these jets? Crap like that should be the first to go.
But then again, look at all those pilots and maintenance personnel who would lose their jobs.

I really hate to tell anyone this that does not live in Michigan but the American Auto Companies do something that banks do not-They employ millions of people and produce Manufactured goods and the reason our Auto Companies are failing is because of a Congress that refuses to make any changes in trade laws that are outsourcing our industry and a President that allows Big Oil Companies and the Stock market to do wwhatever they wanrt to do with oil commodities and gasoline prices-No Industry including the Auto Industry could foretell the way the Bush Administration and The Republican Congress would completely screw up the economy-put the blame where it belongs-On Unfair to American Worker and American Industry Trade Agreements and high gasoline prices!

ahhhhhhhh..the Party of Lincoln is making him turn over even more than the Illinois governor now..the Howdy Doodies of Hooterville, Alabama Texas Oklahoma Tennessee and the rest of the union hating South have again returned the Party to the Herbert Hoover corner even after being warned by dead eye Dick Cheney..it makes one proud that these fine upstanding cretins sold the middle class and the economy down the river to keep their Japanese and Korean buddies happy..you would think that they would attempt to raise the pay and benefits of their own states employees instead of gutting the wages of American company employees, but the Southern boys prefer to keep all our money going to foreign countries either through tax breaks and crap wages or rebuilding and fighting a deadend war in Iraq..now they have put the fate of the economy on the unfit shoulders of the biggest Howdy Doody of their Party,Mr. Lame Duck, who caused the problem in the first place..may the Party pay for this stupidity for the next 20 years like the last Herbert Hoover did....GOP=Gutless Old Pricks
