Mother Jones, enough already on all these tourture stories of how our military is tourturing our poor terrorist. Now level the facts with how all of our men and women have been tourtured when they have been caught... If my son was not back over there, and was retired I would have him tell you how they treat our people. You need to report both sides. You are going for the wrong agender. Ralph

" "If I had to make a choice, to choose the government without the press or to have the press but without the government, I will select the latter without hesitation."

Please continue "annoying us", just make sure that the information is complete, accurate and as often as practical, cite your sources.

Strange response in these blogs: the US invaded Iraq by force, and yet "they" are the evil ones. Even if this logic made sense, the people being held in Abu Ghraib and other sites have not been proven to have committed any crime. They are not allowed to have attorneys and have not even been charged. To support their torture is to support a reign of terror. As far as I know, a very few of the many people opposed to the US occupation have taken US prisoners and tortured them.

The case against torture is well known: it doesn't provide reliable information,it it endangers our own troops at the hands of people wanting revenge, and it's a documented cause of the reprisals called terrorism. (The Algerian War is worth a study.)

[deleted] you Ralph. [deleted] you Todd. The soldiers are just as responsible for the war as the politicians. If they didnt volunteer to go, we wouldn't be there right now. That is a fact. If you really loved your country you would stop cooperating with the people who wish to destroy it.

Torture violates our basic founding principles and it is no coincidence that it is being espoused by an administration that disdains the rule of law and wishes to have dictatorial power.

If you asked me 10 years ago if Americans would ever support torture, I would have laughed. what happened? who the hell raised you animals? Has history taught you nothing? War crimes beget more war crimes. That is why there were so many instances of brutal torture on their side shortly after the abu ghraib stories hit the news.

Mother[deleted]ers like you are thinking with your reptilian brain. Either evolve or do us all a favor and line up for sterilization.

We Tortured Ones

We tortured ones
Wake at night
At the slightest sound
Defenses driven by memories
Fearing past pain found

We tortured ones
Wake at night
In terror of what could come
Knowing too well
Unspeakable things once done

We tortured ones
Wake at night
In loud or silent scream
Answering questions
Without knowing what they mean

We tortured ones
Wake at night
In combative fearful waves
Shouting never again
Struggling too be saved

We tortured ones
Wake at night
Feeling and smelling Burnt pulp flesh
Tasting fear and blood
In a [deleted] piss mess

We tortured ones
Wake at night
Feeling helpless without hope
Touched by tools of fire
Restrained with chafing ropes

We tortured ones
Wake at night
Lost and forsaken
Whimpering ashamed
Of all that was taken
Forever remembering it's name

We tortured ones
Wake at night
Knowing evils done
