The Boxes The Interview Paula gets a Mac & Cheese cooking lesson. You'll need the RealAudio Player | This is the Cheesiest! "Question: What looks like an Elephant, is edible, and is only available at the Republican National Convention?" The answer, silly, is KRAFT Macaroni and Cheese's special "Republicans In 96" edition (with little macaroni elephants.) The product's mascot, Cheesasaurus Rex, hosted a tasting yesterday at the convention. [Since "press" time, a batch of Democratic boxes have shown up in Chicago.] Paula Poundstone interviewed some high-schoolers who were cooking Mac & Cheese in the RNC Youth Pavilion. But the real question is why didn't KRAFT's parent company Phillip Morris (one of the top contributors to the GOP) release a "special edition" pack of Marlboro's? Maybe riding an elephant falls outside the Marlboro Man's contract. Or maybe the tobacco company wanted to keep their presence at the convention under the radar. Oh well, better luck next time. | ![]() |
