Lyndon LaRouche
This guy just won't go away. This will be Lyndon LaRouche's sixth run for the presidency since 1976, and his fifth run for the democratic nomination. Words such as "fringe," "extremist," and even "wacko" are used to describe him, and his campaign volunteers are almost cult-like in their devotion.
The details are shadowy at best, but LaRouche was convicted of fraud and tax conspiracy during the Reagan administration. He wears that fact like a badge, holding that the charges were part of a government attempt to "eliminate" him. He also believes that the Holocaust is a "common delusion of the American Zionist" and that Henry Kissinger was a Soviet agent. Go figure.

- The internet is tailor-made for people like LaRouche. The national media ignore him, for the most part. But the web allows LaRouche to broadcast his implication that Newt Gingrich is working with "London madmen" to break the U.S. into "who-knows-how-many micro-states." Good or bad? Click away, members of the jury.
