A New Beginning for the Photo Fund
We are pleased to announce the transition of the International Fund for Documentary Photography from Mother Jones to the FiftyCrows Foundation. As of October 1, 2001 FiftyCrows Foundation will manage, operate and inventory all aspects of the Photo Fund, including the Grants and Fine Print Programs. We view the move as an important and positive evolution of the program and FiftyCrows will continue to support the work of documentary photographers around the world.
The FiftyCrows Foundation mission is to use photographic documentation of world events to educate people about social, political and environmental situations that lead to a better understanding of our common humanity. Through the sharing of photographic stories FiftyCrows will enable dialogue, collaborative problem solving and creative response with the goal of compassionate justice.
FiftyCrows pursues its mission through programs including the International Fund for Documentary Photography, the FiftyCrows Gallery located in San Francisco, California and a comprehensive website aimed at becoming the definitive site for documentary photography on the Web.
