Erik Schei, 23, who received a traumatic brain injury while serving his 2nd tour of duty in Iraq, is kissed on the forehead by his father Gordon during a ceremony at his home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico on Saturday, September 22, 2007.

The New Mexico Honor Guard erected a flag poll and raised the flag at 10 a.m., the Rio Rancho High School marching band played, the mayor made an appearance and the Patriot Guard Riders bike group rode in to hold up flags during a ceremony to honor the severely wounded Schei.
