Why is the United States' military ripping the North Korean flag? Is this an appropriate image for the United States to broadcast to either the citizens of the world, or moreover, the citizens of the United States? Regardless of the status of U.S./North Korean relations, that flag is an important national symbol to the citizens of North Korea. It is not only ethnocentric, but obnoxious too, that the United States' military can not have more class, and show a little compassion for the citizens of the world. The quarrel between the United States and North Korea is not with all of the citizens of North Korea, only its elites.
