In the middle of preparing dinner for her family, Ms. Ruth gets interrupted by a phone call requesting information on the various ceremonial robe colors. Between phone calls, sewing, and caring for her daughter and all of her animals, it's "Just another day at the zoo," she says. As a white guy in south london, my main source for info on such things is TV - be it episodes of quantum leap or movies. So Im astonished to see that such stupidity, such blatant thickness is still around. Racism has nothing to do with it, this is purely down to people not being very bright.

Being in a group and having ceremony is certainly a nice feeling. But for heaven's sake, can't they get a hobby??
It's such a terrible pity these people don't feel there's anything better to do with their time than nurture hatred and ignorance and fear and violence against other human beings. One really sad thing is that this guy fails so hard at being subjective, and seems so earnest about telling us how nice a lady Ms Ruth is and how warm and kind she is. He wouldn't have been able to get a foot in the door without a knife in his belly if he weren't so white.
