Do the men know what the women look like? I find it somehow extremely satisfying that all these men out there with pictures of bone-thin women in their minds are getting off with fat, often middle-aged, women's voices.

More proof that there is a god and it has a wicked sense of humor.

What makes you think that there is anything unsexy about the large or middle agaed. Everyone is going to be middle aged at some point. Not every one thinks bone thin teen-agers are hot. Anyway, the anonaminity of both parties is part of the whole package. It is the reason for the industries existance. Anonaminity is sexy and safe.

I think Bertie's point is that these *men* wouldn't think the bigger women are sexy. She's right, too. Guys get so hung up on looks they will post personal ads demanding women who are "height-weight proportionate." I see it ALL the time. So to have them call someone who isn't, and to get off on her voice... that's hilarious. And maybe more guys will read this essay and stop and think. I doubt it, though.

Guys will only stop and think only if they use their brain and not their smaller head.

Maybe if YOU would stop and think you would realize it's not hilarious because many of these guys probably know darn well that their fantasy image and the actual image of the woman are not the same, and maybe they are O.K. with that, rather than dumb and unable to conceive of that possibility, as you seem to assume. I've never called phone sex, but dated a woman who did it part time, and I give those men who call a bit more credit than the "think with their dicks" images, oh so stereotyped, some seem so inclined to cling to.

Second, accepting obese people are lovable is one thing; to criticize someone for being less turned on by such very unhealthy bodies, is not smart.

Third, I agree unlike obesity, some things that turn many men off are, indeed, unfortunate stereotyped. But A. men are not born that way, look at how society conditions them, including the women around them. B. Do you think for a second that (many not all) women don't have such shallow preferences they pick up from the way society conditions them? Like "taller" men etc? Or women who "think with their clits"?

Talking as if all men are stupid will not liberate women. Read Susie Bright, and generally, think before repeating "Think with dick" and "Accept all body types are 'healthy'" cliches.

i am actually repulsed and sorry for the men and women who use this service and the workers as well. i knew someone who thought about going into that business because she felt so low, like she couldn't do anything else. i know viewers at this site will disagree with me, but i do believe that these people are justifying what they do. in psychology it's called cognitive dissonance. they have to say they like it or feel satisfied in order to keep doing the work. i wish they could all find their truest beauty and honor that.

i agree with yea right. this photo essay and book is such a load of crock. When is someone going to write a book exposing the ugly truths of this industry? They pay these people peanuts---literally pennies per minue to take call after call of weirdos and people who want to degrade women. They get paid according to how long they keep the wankers on the phone. And most guys want to jerk off in like one minute flat and say the most disguting things. There is nothing noble about phone sex industry.
