This is a good photograph of a beautiful woman...separated from her children, not allowed to attend her husband's funeral, but always and forever determined - true to her country. The bird is a sarawak, like the phoenix, her country will sweep up out of the flames.

Hi Charlotte, thanks for your comment. I'm afraid I do not know what a Sarawak is but as far as know the yellow bird on Aung San Suu Kyi's party (NLD) flag is a fighting Peacock.
Peace.

'Happy Birthday' then to the Lovely Lady who champions her people. She is a huge role model for all womankind and humanity -- to keep on pursuing every good ideal, every great intention, every good and right way, even in the face of terrible evil.
Please God, she always knows a great measure of Peace, if not in her country, or her time, but always in her heart.
Thank God for 'The Lady' of Burma.

I expect that she knows this but her strength helps to hold up so many others fighting to hold on to their ideals in trying times. She is one in a long line of those who serve humanity and she deserves all our love and gratitude.
