The wife of a miner who was killed in a clash in Huanuni sits in her kitchen the day after his death. Dynamite used in the fighting destroyed part of their village, and several people were buried as a result.

What a strong, delicate and controversial photo. It tells so many stories.
I already knew and admire Marco Vernaschi's work, but this story it's beyond compare.

I have a hard time believing that miners have a framed, plastic/glass enclosed, replica of the Che Guevara poster.

As for the poster, that you insinuate to be part of a staged picture:
You should know that Che Guevara - who was killed in Bolivia - is considered a revolutionary hero, an icon for the Bolivian working class, including the miners.
If you will ever have the chance to travel to Bolivia, you will find that in every town and main village the face of Che Guevara is even painted on the walls.
Evo Morales, president of Bolivia, has a gigantic portrait of Che in his presidetial office.
And yes: also the "poor Bolivian miners" have frames and glass. If you pay attention you'll see that also the picture of the widow's husband is framed...
