Three years ago, writer David Plotz decided to read the entire Bible. His experiences were chronicled in Slate, and inspired the recently-released tome Good Book: The Bizarre, Hilarious, Disturbing, and Inspiring Things I Learned When I Read Every Single Word of the Bible.

MoJo's Jen Phillips spoke with Plotz about irreverent Judaism, animal sacrifices, and why the Good Book is so bloody.
