I don't make it habit to

I don't make it habit to comment on minor points of disagreement, but I felt insulted at the egregious misrepresentation of the criticism of the Obama administration on Gay Rights by both Kevin Drum and David Corn. What was difficult to understand--and to be told--is how DADT is "the most important piece" of the rights movement, as opposed to for instance Marriage equality in light of both the political momentum to gain equality on one hand, and to dismantle such rights when states support them on the other. Moreover, Bill Clinton's administration was over 8 years ago, so it's ridiculous to continue to suggests that his example proves the political futility of any robust action on the part of the President on any rights issue. But what I found particularly insulting was the characterization of the criticism as unrealistic and unfair in regards to their demands for equal rights, as Drum sarcastically puts it "since the world hasn't changed completely in nine months". It seems if its not one of Mojo's pet issues, then its simply distraction. It would have been more reasonable to lists for your listeners exactly where the Obama administration have shown "progress on some stuff" in regards to Gay rights as Mr. Drum so vaguely informs us. If you could enlighten your listeners how materially gay people's lives are better for any action by Obama on issues relevant to rights equality, perhaps the critics would oblige you by shutting up and returning to cutting checks for the democratic party. Ugh. Now I'm try to get that oily feeling of disgust out my system.
