Brodner's Cartoon du Jour: What's a Jindal?

A hilarious hand-held debuting last night. Press the button and it downloads great lines like "Today in Washington, some are promising that government will rescue us from the economic storms raging all around us. Those of us who lived through Hurricane Katrina—we have our doubts."
This GOP front-runner promises to be our Shirley Temple: recession-era fun for the whole family.
Don't make fun of heroes
This gentle man is the future of politics. How dare you ridicule him in this way. There is no way that the Amerikan peeple will allow this kind of of commentary to continue. It is disrespectful, and socialist in nature. The real America does not treat its heroes like this. This senator saved lives during hurricane Katrina, protecting people from big government bureaucrats-remin you of anybody (like the government now). If you kick a man while he is down, he will kick back and become president in the next election, with a true leader, Sara Palin, by his side as the vice president. If the Democrats hadn't taken control of the House of Representatives, Katrina would not have been so bad, and the current housing mess and free market annihilashion would not have happened. The Amerikan people are keeping a tab on the democRAT party, and anger is mounting as money is wasted on pork programs like the "infrastructure" welfare building bill.
Interesting,
You seem to have a few facts wrong - but what the heck. You must get along fine in your own little world.
Do some research, turn off the tv, read something (besides whatever you are reading) you need a more balanced outlook on things.
k.b.
Hm.
1. I don't see anything "socialist" about this cartoon. I also think McCarthyism is a bit dated.
2. It is distinctly and patriotically American to dissent, to participate actively in the political arena, and to ridicule/disagree with public figures. These freedoms come first in our Bill of Rights, making it actually anti-American to try to deny them.
3. This country has been in a pattern of "boom and bust" for much of our history. That's capitalism. This "bust" was particularly large because we were particularly vulnerable (heavily committed in two wars) and because the boom was large, leading to a lot of risk-taking behavior by the financial sector. Bush policies led to that vulnerability, and the current situation we are in, by running such high trade deficits. The Bush administration and those who supported him have demonstrated little fiscal responsibility, having taken the large surplus passed on by Clinton and left the country as we see it today.
4. Please spell-check.
Jindal and Palin=Dumb and Dumber
Hooked on phonics definitely did not work for you.Actually most of the stories about him saving anyone/helping anyone with cutting through red tape has now been debunked and he himself came out and said he lied about it. Bobby Jindal can be the face of the Republican party all he wants too it just makes our job that much easier.
Uhhh...you do know he *LIED* about the bureaucrat incident?
Dear Repug-nant,
Please read the writing on the wall. You lost. Big. Like no repubs in the oval office for a generation big. Perhaps you've seen the fires that the Nero Jr *YOU* voted into office started around our country and around the world?
The best you can come up with is loudmouthed liars whose only idea is to cut taxes which won't solve *ANY* of the nations problems.
Mr. Roger, Rush Gobbles, and Sara, too dumb to show to the press-Palin aren't going to cut it anymore. You can keep voting against your own self-interest and getting the thieves and liars that created this mess elected in a few fly-over, pissant states, but you're sad excuse for a party will never be a going concern again.
Have a nice foreclosure,
snowball

I love this comment. It says it all. I think his heroism only grows. This act of falling on his face and not being able to get up was like a great general in wartime, taking a bullet for his troops. I saw Jindal bloodied in battle that night, surrounded by musket, flairs and flags. I weep, decorate my room with bunting and light candles, nay bonfires. Rabbis are darvening. Let us design a monument for him. You know, a tomb. In a deserted mall.
sorry...
I don't really "get it." So... you're saying that he has a funny name, kind of sounds like a popular hand-held electronic device. Um... now what?
Oh well. Jindal's actual "speech" is more embarrassing than ridicule from any cartoonist. Cheers.
Jindal
Jindal with get no where. The Republicans are attempting to explain their recent losses in the elections and identifying everything EXCEPT the real cause(s). Their idealogy. Much to the contrary of common perception, American politics is no longer a debate between "less filling" and "better tasting". It is therefore not merely a matter of personal preferences. People are now sufferening to the point where the 'Bently bumper-stickers' that worked so well for so long are no longer being believed--even by those who traffic in these falacious sound-bites.
The Republicans can not find their 'direction' because they completely busted their comp, and ours also, along with the entire Western world's. It was greed combined with abusive tactics. For a while there, cheaters prospered. Now no one can prosper. Rich or poor, everyone's broke.

See!!!! Another example of the democRAT parties mean spirited and unfair attack policies. Anyone who uses thought processes of common sense is immediately belittled instead of analyzing the issue and giving it consideration. Emotional anti-intellictual outbursts of Socialist hatred. The true American people are keeping track of this, and they will put a stop to it at the next election. Most of the money in this Government Welfare Spending Bill will not be spent until after 2010, so hopefully after the Republicans come back into power in that year, they can put a stop to it. The Democrats may have temporarily gain power through fear and corruption policys, but things will come back around, and the true leaders will save the day.
unfair attack policies?!
You mean like O'Reilly, Rush, Hannity, and Coulter?
There's a stream of fear-mongering, hate-based ignorance spewing from Fox Noise 24/7 and you think the *LEFT* is unfair? Read a book you ignorant twit.
Your "thought-processes of common sense" look like robotic, neocon drivel to us.
The True American People? When will the right stop inventing categories like this? Everyone who disagrees with *me* is un-American, but *YOURE* a fascist!
Repugs won't see power again before 2032 sweetheart. If ever again.

Deane:
Registered Republicans in the USA amount to about 60-million people.
They are (virtually) the only ones in our world of 8+ billion souls who believe that a nation (any nation) can borrow unendingly--to prevent its affluent from paying the budget shortfall.
Go anywhere else and ask any average person how wise this strategy is and they will likely answer that it:
a. is suicidal
b. is surprising that we have lasted so long without a total economic collapse.
Over the past decades, the so called conservatives have stacked the political (power) deck, mainly because the US President selects the Federal Judges, including the Supreme Court. (The White House has been in Republican control for 28 out of the past 40 years). To repay the favor, 8 years ago, the supreme court selected the US president. At the time, the USA had a $125-billion budget surplus and was paying down the debt, accumulated (mainly) from Reagan and Bush-1. Bush-W figured out a method to double the national debt in 8 years. It was probably the only thing he could figure out.
You have absolutely no earthly clue the sort of damage this gross-mismanagement has done to us, plus all our successive generations, who are now as good as slaves--before they are even born.
I for one am sick of the bull-crap. And I am done being polite about it. I want my children redeemed back from the auction-block and I take no more lip from 'Archie-the cable guy'.

Trollstein you rock. This beautiful country was an economic and environmental gift to us. Like any account, bank account if you continue to make withdrawls and no deposits you get a highly predictable result. It all comes down to that. Now it's done. And the old boys still don't get it. Sad, but fatal politically now.
