Sasha Abramsky is a senior fellow at the New York-based Demos Institute, and is the author of "Conned: How Millions Went to Prison, Lost the Vote, and Helped Send George W. Bush to the White House." His work has appeared in Mother Jones, the Atlantic Monthly, the New York Times, Rolling Stone, the Nation, the American Prospect, the L.A. Weekly, the Village Voice, and many other publications. He teaches in the writing program at the University of California, Davis.
