A co-founder of Purpose Films, Nick Bicanic comes to the film and television industry from eight years of experience in the world of new media. After graduating University of Cambridge with a master's degree in chemistry, Bicanic founded and ran Deltabravo Ltd, a multimedia design and strategy company in London. Clients of the company included Arcadia Group Ltd (controller of the majority of UK high street fashion stores), for which DeltaBravo provided all e-commerce strategy, design and programming.
Having steered the company clear through wild changes in the internet marketplace (and written numerous newspaper articles and books about multimedia design and strategy in the process) Bicanic was key to successfully selling the company and he started to explore other ways of fusing his two main interests – storytelling and technology.
His business function at Purpose Films is to leverage his experience with marketing and technology to help ride the next wave of the entertainment industry. Bicanic's contacts and skillset lend themselves to both feature length documentary as well as dramatic pieces. Purpose Films recently finished production on 'Shadow Company – Contract Iraq', a feature length documentary about private military companies co-directed and co-written by Bicanic.
His first dramatic film, "Art History," which he wrote, directed, and produced, was an award winning short film selected by Panasonic for their worldwide demo reel. In addition to this Bicanic co-produced "Under The Cover," a dramatic mini-series made in association with CBC for ZeD.
