Ward Sutton is a cartoonist, writer, filmmaker and illustrator.
Ward Sutton creates the weekly political cartoon, Sutton Impact for the Village Voice. His first book, Sutton Impact: The Political Cartoons of Ward Sutton, was published in July, 2005 by Seven Stories Press.
Sutton has created posters for many musicians including Beck, Pearl Jam, Radiohead and Phish as well as for John Leguizamo’s Broadway show “Freak” and the 2000 Sundance Film Festival. His cartoons and illustrations have appeared in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, TV Guide, The Nation, Entertainment Weekly, and many more.
Sutton designed the opening animated segment to the cult hit Comedy Central show, “Strangers With Candy.” He has created animation for HBO, VH-1, and TV Land and he is currently working on his own independent film.
With his family he splits his time between Greenwich Village in New York City and the prairies of North Dakota.
