Mommies Praised, But Not Respected, For Staying Home With Their Kids
Ah, the family values crowd.
One proud stay-at-home mom of three had a rude awakening yesterday when she tried to keep her daughter home with her for Take Your Child To Work Day.
[Sandra] Thompson says she considers hers a professional job and when she planned for bring your child to work day, she thought that as a stay at home mom it would be good for her kids to see what she does all day.
"I approached the teacher and asked her if it would be ok for Adriane to spend a day and see what my job is all about. They came back and said that my job is not considered a professional job."
Sandra took her concerns to the Superintendent of Madison County Schools, Dr. Terry Davis.
"He told me how much he admires my job, how important my job is, that his own wife stays home with their children."
But still he refused to allow it.
It would have counted as an unexcused absence.
Don't you just hate it when the truth slips out?
Looks like the Thompson kids could write their own book: Everything I Know About Misogyny I Learned On Take Your Child To Work Day. Maybe Mrs. Davis would like to contribute an essay.

A Mom is a job, and it is very important!

Coming from a dad who see how much time my wife puts into raising my son, I consider a mother's role to be one of the most professional positions there is, even above CEO.
A mom who stays at home as to wear different hats in order to raise a child. She is a teacher, a counselor, a judge, to name a few.
furthermore, I seen more and more mothers taken on freelancing jobs at sites like https://www.surefirehire.com, in order to earn extra cash.
Who says a mother's job is not professional.
Not a profession, obviously
Any woman- or man for that matter- who stays at home doing 20-30h while their partner -usually the man -does 40-50h in a factory or office is a parasite. This of course excludes stay at homers who do part time work or have an arrangement with their partner to alternate staying at home to look after the kids. And please, how does anything in your article add up to hatred of women (misogyny)? Feminist buzzword that should be saved for the "women shouldn't vote" crowd.
Media outlets didn't
Media outlets didn't sensationalize the story? In the United States it was on most channels constantly even though there had been less than 20 confirmed deaths or cases, and details were never given whether or not there were other factors involved. This story was as sensationalized as you could get, given the fact that there are more deaths in this country due to our open Southwestern borders on a monthly basis than there was due to he swine flu. And I guess unless you lived on a U.S. border in a border state you would have absolutely no concept of what is actually going on there. And they do quarantine animals in England for over 12 months in order to protect the animal populations there. What a spin. Do you happen to work for the mainstream media?see online :
