Obama in Your Xbox
Obama placement ads in Xbox games? Yes, really. The Obama campaign is leaving no constituent touchpoint untouched, nudging gamers to get off their couches and participate in early voting. The media savvy campaign bought ad space in a slew of online Xbox 360 games including Madden NFL 09 and Burnout Paradise in 10 battleground states.*
It initially struck me as a little bit guerrilla-marketing-sleazy, kind of like flaunting the newest Bimmer in the latest Bond movie. On the other hand, I guess it's not that different from Obama going door to door and shaking hands, like he did yesterday in Ohio.
CNET
talk about subliminal advertising. THAT makes me sick.
