Whatever else you think of her, Michele Bachmann is pretty photogenic. But everybody has their lapses, and Mother Jones contributing photographer Chris Buck caught a doozie with his (in)famous shot of the Republican presidential contender for the August 2011 cover of Newsweek. You know the one: it's the same look of wide-eyed wonder she must have worn the first time the Ringling Bros. Circus rolled into Waterloo, Iowa. Well, after Jon Stewart took Newsweek editor Tina Brown to task for the photo, those unsettling eyes have taken on a life of their own, spawning the decidedly bizarre "Bachmann-eyezed" meme. To give you something to ponder (or keep you awake at night) over the weekend, here are a few standouts. (All images courtesy of Bachmann-eyezed!)
And if your thinking on those images is more in line with Jon Stewart's—go after Bachmann for her words, not her looks—we've got plenty of cuckoo quotes from the candidate, too. See Michelle Bachmann Said What?! for a compendium of the crazy.
