Our cover package ("The Speedup") was produced in record time by a team including MoJo coeditors Monika Bauerlein and Clara Jeffery, who, as mothers of young children, know a bit about doing more—faster.

So, probably, did the grandfather of Virginia Quarterly Review editor Ted Genoways ("Cut and Kill"), who worked at the Swift Packing Plant in the 1920s.

That piece was shot by Alec Soth, whose work has shown at the Whitney Biennial and Paris' Jeu de Paume museum.
