- cover letter and résumé, including the names and numbers of two references
- two writing samples (links to online versions preferred)
Internships begin on June 1 and December 1. Applications are due no later than two months prior to start date (April 1 and October 1) and decisions will be announced one month prior to the internship start date. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Interns may apply for a fellowship to continue with Mother Jones after completion of their six-month internship.
