This is Sentinel Rock in Yosemite National Park. The picture was taken late in the afternoon but before the sun got too low, which provides the warm yellow color. As I recall, I took this on the way toward Horsetail Fall, where we waited for the sun to go fully down and light up a corner of El Capitan bright red.
