ME: So what is this flower?
MARIAN: It’s the bloom of an orchid tree.
ME: So it’s an orchid?
MARIAN: No….
ME: Well, what’s it called?
MARIAN: It’s the bloom of an orchid tree.
ME:
I think it deserves more of a name than that. We shouldn’t refer to flowers solely by their relationship to the plant they’re married to.
