I Can’t Stop Watching This Bizarre Donald Trump Ad

Wow… what did I just watch?

From LA-based special effects wizard, Mike Diva, comes this startling fever dream: a parody Trump advertisement imagined as a tricked-out Japanese TV spot. “I made a commercial for my senpai—future world president Donald Trump,” Diva wrote on Twitter yesterday. My favorite part is when she flies on a rainbow into the floating Trump cave island, but you’ve got to stick around for the sensational ending: Trump as an all-powerful comic book Transformer, flying into orbit to destroy Earth, before an affectionate voice-over proclaims, “Trumpu, 2016.”

Mother Jones was founded as a nonprofit in 1976 because we knew corporations and the wealthy wouldn't fund the type of hard-hitting journalism we set out to do.

Today, reader support makes up about two-thirds of our budget, allows us to dig deep on stories that matter, and lets us keep our reporting free for everyone. If you value what you get from Mother Jones, please join us with a tax-deductible donation today so we can keep on doing the type of journalism 2019 demands.
