I’m feeling enormously discouraged right now because after having elected this guy, swallowing hard, we’re faced with fighting for the death penalty. Clinton won because he sounded like a progressive candidate. He was promising social program money for jobs and schools, universal health care, and surrounding himself at first with people on the left, and then just stopped listening to them.
I’m not giving up on him. He can make a speech. Unlike Carter. He’s as good as Reagan, which is saying a lot. He’s a talented orator , andaif he can get his shit together and point his compass leftathe forty percent of this nation’s virtually disenfranchised can be galvanized with a reasonable agenda.
