You have to make money to pay taxes, and this morning we learned that, at least in the United Kingdom, Donald Trump doesn’t make money. The same documents that show his Scottish golf courses are money-losers show that the courses didn’t have to pay any UK taxes either.
Trump’s two Scottish courses each had to filed documents with British corporate registration authorities showing their annual accounts: revenues, operating costs, valuation—and taxes paid. Neither of the Trump-owned companies that run the courses had to pay any taxes in 2014 or 2015.
