Suspect Dead in Ohio State University Attack as School Lifts Lockdown

School officials identified the suspect as Abdul Razak Ali Artan.


Update, 4:05 p.m. EST: In a press conference Monday afternoon, school officials identified the deceased suspect as Ohio State University student Abdul Razak Ali Artan. Contrary to prior reports, officials say the suspect drove into a crowd and used a knife to attack multiple victims.

Update, 12:20 p.m. EST: School officials released a statement confirming one suspect was shot and killed.

Update, 11:32 a.m. EST: The “shelter in place” order has been lifted.

Ohio State University officials are warning students of an active shooter presence on its Columbus, Ohio, campus Monday morning. The warnings were first issued shortly before 10 a.m. EST:
