Climate Change's Worldwide Domination

What if the world dealt with the Nazis of yesterday the same way we deal with the scourge of climate change today?

Hi

Climate change is effecting every country. Is there
anything we can do at our level to control it? While at high school, I signed a campaign to "Go Green, Promote Green" but nothing big ever happened. This is one cause we all would certainly like to get involved into if only we know how?

um. Bit of an overreach.

Love Fiore, have for many a moon.

But to compare the willful, purposeful genocide of millions of people in order to further a twisted, perverse totalitarian regime (and no, for once, I'm not talking about Katrina) to something that SHOULD have been addressed 50 years ago but isn't the same thing as GAS OVENS or SKIN LAMPSHADES... good effort, but badly played.

Yes, climate change is going to kill us. The planet would probably be better off without us. We could've fixed a LOT of this shit back in Eisenhower's day, if he hadn't been whipped-into-line by the military-industrial-CONGRESSIONAL complex, as he originally wrote it. We TRIED in the 1970s, but the financing wasn't there, even if the public sentiment was. But then, to the majority of Murkins, not being able to buy gasoline to get to work or the store or whatever was a FAR bigger crisis than what that gasoline and OPEC and Big Oil in general were doing to shit allllll over the environment.

I'd LOVE to see a brilliant Fiore piece about the drilling "regulations" in Wyoming. In almost every other state that has petroleum deposits, there are LAWS about how used drilling mud and other toxic by-products of the drill/pump process are CAREFULLY HANDLED AS HAZMAT ISSUES, but in Biggus Dickus's back yard? Ohhh, no.

You can drive down any state or federal highway in Wyoming, and at some point, you will come upon a drilling rig or even an established pump, and see used, toxic, petroleum-based "drilling mud," sludge, and other toxic waste, JUST RUNNING OUT ONTO THE GROUND AND SINKING INTO THE WATER TABLE.

Wyoming used to be such a pretty, clean, wild state. Used to be. But then, so did Louisiana, and look at what Cancer Alley (Dow Chemical, ExxonMobil, British Petroleum, etc. etc.) has done for US! Why there isn't a law to make those globe-eating dynasties pay DIRECTLY for the cancer surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and treatment for autoimmune disorders of every sick person in this state, I've no friggin' idea. Oh, wait, thatttt's right, silly me, I keep forgetting!

Giant corporations aren't "RESPONSIBLE" for anything, they are our MASSAHS, and they can easily pull-up stakes and send our jobs to INDIA, where they won't even be FINED for gassing or blowing up hundreds of thousands of people, therefore we can NEVER even MENTION the fact that they're KILLING US and the next 10 generations to come, at the very least.

Damn, I miss Jimmy Carter and the EPA. Wear a fucking sweater, people.

Oh, and Bill Clinton, no matter how much he travels & does press junkets for his "foundation" (he's such a good little lap-dog for Pfizer, Eli Lilly, et al...), no matter how many warm bodies he counts as "successes," HE WILL NEVER BE OR "BEAT" JIMMY CARTER. It INFURIATES the egomaniac that Jimmy has done more since leaving the White House than any sitting president has done IN the White House, and that HE WILL NEVER CATCH UP, 'cause he's TOO BUSY BEING A CORPORATE WHORE, just like he was a little bitch for the republicunts in the '90s.

Yeah, I bought the P.R. package back in the day, I believed in that misogynist. But 20/20 hindsight is a BITCH.

Evils of corporations, polutionizers, bhar blar blar, yakety yak

You can get about so environmentally sensitive before you're eventually bound to become a hypocrite. Whether people like it or not, pollution and global warming, provided it's not a colossal measurement error, or deliberate hoax, are byproducts of how 6.7 billion people get through the day. Do you see people taking their SUV's to the wrecking yard? No. That would be stupid. Do you see people shutting off all the breakers in their homes, and locking the box? No. That would also be stupid.

What we need to be here, is SMART. We need to find out if we're being put on, find out if environmental protection is actually part economic protectionism(my pet theory, there's lots of money and stuff involved, and not that much altruism), and then find out what, if anything, can really be done about the problem, if in fact there is one. Unemployed people will do for themselves, and in wintertime, they'll burn anything they can lay hands on to stay warm. They'll also cut as many trees and build as many shanties as it takes to get in out of the cold.

Insofar as comparing global warming to the Nazi empire, that was a joke too far, even for Fiore. Hitler and his army were burning down the world, we're sort of burning it up, so to speak.

There is sort of an interesting parallel, here, in the run-up to WWII when it looked like our country was definitely headed for war, they started building factories, and turning out hard goods. Germany was in full swing with industry, and their factories worked day and night turning out war goods for the Third Reich.

In the post-war period, first US factories, and then overseas factories ran at a high pitch, turning out more and more and more goods for market, giving us the many options we have today. Now, though, we face a different problem, product glut, and a credit crunch, and landfills that are filled. What now, that we are victims of our own success, so to speak?

Again, I would like to see independent re-evaluation of global warming. If it's just a lot of hot air out of Al Gore, that's one thing, if there's REALLY a problem, that's something else.
