Twisters Create Emergency In New Orleans, Bush Responds With...You Guessed It--Nothing

A tornado system with twisters up to 135 miles per hour ripped through three major New Orleans neighborhoods early Tuesday morning, killing one person, injuring a few dozen, and doing what is estimated to be $20 million worth of damage. Several houses that had been rebuilt or almost rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina were torn apart, as were many FEMA trailers. Schools were closed, highways were shut down, piles of rubble were everywhere, trees were uprooted, and thousands of people were left without electricity.

Governor Kathleen Blanco declared a state of emergency yesterday afternoon, and asked the White House to do likewise. As of right now, late Wednesday night, the response from George W. Bush is that he will present the governor a timetable for when he will "consider" declaring the New Orleans area in a state of emergency.

If this sounds familiar, it should. The scenario lacks playful guitar strumming and a birthday cake at a desert resort, but it is all too similar to what happened in early September of 2005.

Bush declared an emergency within 24 hours of a tornado which recently struck Mississippi.

Bush won't do anything until some wealthy white people are in danger down there. If New Orleans had been the target of 9/11 -- it would have gotten less attention than the death of Anna Nicole Smith. You didn't hear anyone blaming those in the WTC for not getting out of there while they could. But the poor people who couldn't find a way out (if you've never been too poor to buy a bus ticket, you wouldn't understand their dilemma) were not only blamed but also critcized for making people have to go in and rescue them. It wasn't just about racism (though that clearly was a factor) -- it was about class as well. After all, Bush's (satanic) mom thought the Katrina refugees were coming out ahead since they didn't have anything to begin with. This elitist mentality among the rich is killing our country. When they run this country into the ground, they can always take their millions and leave. The rest of us will have to pick up the pieces.

It seems that too many americans have forgotten what the federal government was originally created for. I guess they skipped that class so they could get another liberal fix of socialism. It is not Bush's job to get directly involved with every problem in every state 24/7. If you read the history of our founding of the american government you would understand this. Instead we have too many souls waiting for the likes of Pelosi to take us into utter chaos. Better start learning your arabic and or chinese because it will soon become the official language of what's left of this country. Hell let's give it all away now and try to minimize the blood loss. OK forget that let's try to learn from more recent history. Socialism failed in the USSR. Hello - are we doomed to never learn??? If you don't like the greatness this country has grown on try it your way in Iraq or Iran or China. Surely they will welcome you with open arms...
