Brodner's Cartoon du Jour: Crisis Club: Robert "Ponzi" Stanford

The owner of Antigua and the Stanford International Bank, pig heaven for offshore deposits from clients seeking a safe tax haven (seen here with his cricket team). The government of Antigua was more than happy to have this rich Texan move in and take over their failing bank. Now he's the lord of St. John's with zero accountability. He hasn't been charged yet but the SEC can't find the $8 billion in assets he says he has. When the US government started pushing legislation for accountability in offshore banks Stanford hired a lobbying firm in DC and began donating hundreds of thousands to Democrats and Republicans. For some strange reason investigations by the SEC have been stalled over the years! He's given more than $2.4 million to federal candidates since 2000. These include Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.), $45,900 and Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas), $41,375 (plus $10,000 in expenses). Now Antigua is falling on hard times and the spotlight is falling at last on Bobby. Smile. America does not want this spendulous pakage. Why don't you Democrats listen to the people of America and cut taxes instead of this horrible democracy killling loan. It has been proven that the top 1% of the earners in Amerika pay 90% of the taxes here. If you take the bonuses from these leading bankers and CEO'S, then all of the truly talented people will not stay in charge of the banks, but will leave for better employment elsewhere and we will be in even worse shape. The Congress should cut taxes for them, and they will use that money to create jobs. There are no jobs in the spendulous package, just welfare contracts. The democrats created this economic mess by stopping the regulation of industry. This is a center right nation, and the rising tide of discontent will soon drown the social democrat fascists. The Amerikan people are keeping track, as Rush has observed on his radio show from the anger and disbelief in phone calls to his show. Please, for you're own good, democrats, change your direction. If regulation of industry is increased, then the free market will die, and our country will suffer. All things considered, and I think you'll agree, President Bush, like another president that War was forced on (Lincoln) was not so bad in hindsite.
Re: Foolish Democrats
I'm kind of confused as to what you are saying. And from the sounds of it, so are you.
You state that the cessation of industry regulation has caused the "economic mess" we, at present, find ourselves in. Yet at the end of your diatribe, you state that "If regulation of industry is increased, then the free market will die, and our country will suffer." So which is it?
I don't usually reply to trolls, but you just seem to be a confused individual following the failed policies and practices of the past eight years, and spewing the same crap that we've heard over and over.
Do try to come up with an original idea every now and then. It would be appreciated by us all.
Foolish hate filled Democrats
See!!!! Another example of the democRAT parties mean spirited and unfair attack policies. Anyone who uses thought processes of common sense is immediately belittled instead of analyzing the issue and giving it consideration. Emotional anti-intellictual outbursts of Socialist hatred. The true American people are keeping track of this, and they will put a stop to it at the next election. Most of the money in this Government Welfare Spending Bill will not be spent until after 2010, so hopefully after the Republicans come back into power in that year, they can put a stop to it. The Democrats may have temporarily gain power through fear and corruption policys, but things will come back around, and the true leaders will save the day.
