microchip water?
I'd have to dispute the 8 gallons used to create a microchip. Chips require enormous amounts of acids, solvents, etches and other chemicals in the process. Water is used in the manufacture of all of those to some degree. 8 Gallons seems like it would only be the pure water used and not the water used in the products used directly

I don't know the details, and that does seem a bit low to me. But keep in mind the scale; the "enormous amounts of acids, solvents, etches, and other chemicals" are being used to make chips that are at most a couple square centimeters, so they're amortized over a pretty good number of chips.

It's a good thing that all that water is gone from the face of the earth for all eternity.
I mean, if all those thousands of gallons could in some way be reused at a later time, perhaps after human produced means or even allowing it to evaporate and fall as precipitation at a later time, then these numbers would be as pointless as, well, as pointless as they already are.
