Gamma Quadrant Update

GAMMA QUADRANT UPDATE....What's that, you say? Barack Obama is palling around with terrorists? That is so last week. Here's a more recent tour of the Gamma Quadrant:

One: Bill Ayers really wrote Obama's book, Dreams From My Father. Two: Obama had an underage, gay affair with a pedophile. Three: It's entirely possible that Obama was involved with bombing the South African rugby team while he was at Columbia in the 80s. Four: Obama, Bill Ayers, and Jeremiah Wright (via a chain of associations too Rube Goldbergesque to summarize) were engaged in a conspiracy to teach Pan-African "cultural nationalism" to Chicago schoolkids during the 90s. Five: Obama was having an affair with one of his fundraiser babes in 2004 until Michelle found out and banished the woman to a "little Caribbean island."

There's no evidence yet that Obama was actually the secret love child of Malcolm X, but I'm sure we'll find it soon enough if we just keep digging.

I do love that right wingers are demonstrably insane and that we all just go from day to day pretending that they shouldn't be committed for their own good.

This shit isn't even funny. Best to just ignore it rather than talk about it, link to it, and increase its GoogleFootprint.

Mention and link to it and it gives the crazies justification to say, "Look -- the moonbats are going ape-shit over this! We must have hit a nerve. Let's double down."

You know what? I was getting mad about this bullshit until I read your post. Best way to handle it. Just mock the morons.

If you figure his age at the time, Obama was just old enough to have been able to pull the trigger for Lee Harvey Oswald (he would have been too small to have actually held the weapon though).

You heard it here first.

The upside of this crap is that people are not only going to Obama, they are also moving to Democratic Senators and Congressmen. People are just getting fed up with the Republican brand.

The Repubs will have a hard time weakening the Obama administration for 2 reasons. The first is that Obama will have much stronger Dem majorities in Congress. The second is that the economy is going to be THE issue for at least a year and if the Repubs want to keep talking about Ayers they'll support will continue to melt away to that 24% who still support Bush.

I actually encountered somebody trying to sell the Bill Ayers ghostwrote Obama's book. I pointed out that Obama was the President of the Harvard Law Review and is probably a better writer than Ayers. The winger didn't respond.

Hey, come on, if you want to go for dirt, go for the good stuff. If I can quote Giblets

FACT! Barack Obama was a community organizer. ACORN is made of community organizers. Acorns come from oak trees. Oak trees belong to the genus Quercus, which includes Quercus faginea, the Portuguese oak. The prime minister of Portugal is José Sócrates, whose last name looks like Socrates, who lived in Athens, which is also a city in Georgia, whose state fruit is the peach, which is native to China, which is exactly what Osama bin Laden was eating off of while he was plotting to destroy the Twin Towers. It's all connected, people - they just don't want you to know! And they could be black.

Posted by: Yelling in the fog on 10/15/08 at 9:12 AM  Respond

Also, ACORN is an anagram for NARCO, which proves that it is really a front organization for a large drug-dealing ring.

The problem with the whole wingnut conspiracy thing is that even if Obama went on tv tomorrow and declared his intention to reestablish the caliphate on American soil, I and I suspect a majority of Americans would still vote for him, on the grounds that at least the government would be well run.

It's entirely possible that Obama was involved with bombing the South African rugby team while he was at Columbia in the 80s.

That's anamusing caricature but evidently my "To be clear" paragraph was not clear enough:

"For clarity, let me emphasize that I am not alleging that Obama was making bombs with Kathy Boudin. I am wondering how he manged to be active on South African divestment without ever encountering these radicals, and I am wondering why he won't talk about his Columbia years."

Briefly, Obama was involved in the South African divestiture movement; the Weather Undergound was as well, and the Brinks hold-up of 1981 was to fund some protest activity related to South Africa (including bombings.)

Yet Obama's current story is that he had never heard of Bill Ayers until meeting him in 1995. Plausible?

What a pathetic dipshit you are.

Is that really the best you've got?

Do you have any idea how many people, in the USA alone, including innumerable Christian church groups of every description, were "active on South African divestment"?

Are you suggesting that ALL of those thousands of people who were active against the South African apartheid regime were sympathetic to the Weather Underground's criminal activities?

I swear, the abject stupidity of the right wing has to be seen to be believed. Thanks for providing such a vivid demonstration.

So far as I know, the only folks who weren't "active on South African divestment" in the 80's were those who were favorably disposed towards apartheid and the white supremacist regime that controlled South Africa at the time. Since most Americans found apartheid an utterly reprehensible system, Obama had quite a lot of mainstream company on that issue.

Since most Americans found apartheid an utterly reprehensible system, Obama had quite a lot of mainstream company on that issue.

He surely did, as I mentioned in my post.

But Obama was at Columbia, as was Kathy Boudin (teaching at a school in he neighborhood); Bill Ayers was in a nearby school in the early 80's (he got his Masters in 1984).

Yet Obama, active in the divestment movement at Columbia and a fellow who claimed he sought out radicals at college, never heard any whisper that the Weather Underground was involved. And years later, when he finally works with Bill Ayers, he only later learns of his past.

I'm interested that people find that level of obliviousness in their candidate both plausible and acceptable.

Do you have any idea how many people, in the USA alone, including innumerable Christian church groups of every description, were "active on South African divestment"?

Are you suggesting that ALL of those thousands of people who were active against the South African apartheid regime were sympathetic to the Weather Underground's criminal activities?

Much as it pains me to answer obviously rhetorical questions - no. I think an activist at Columbia might have been especially sensitive to the possibility that extremists were working the same territory and would have strived to avoid having their own efforts tainted by the association. I am surprised that Obama could have been completely ignorant of the Weather connection - didn't he read the news?
