Tancredo Declares: Who Is Tancredo?
Rep. Tom Tancredo, a Colorado Republican, declared today that he, too, is running for president. Tancredo, founder of the Immigration Reform Caucus, has built a name for himself by outspokenly opposing illegal immigration. His comments often veer awfully close to racism, such as when he compared Miami to a third world nation. In the 2004 election, as Bush spoke Spanish to appeal to Hispanic voters, Tancredo was told to quiet his accusations that recent immigrants have "divided loyalties."
Tancredo will have to compete with the fund-raising power of Mitt Romney, who leads the Republican pack with $23 million, and with the anti-immigration verbiage of Duncan Hunter, a California Republican profiled in the current issue of Mother Jones.
For an in-depth look at the why's and wherefore's of illegal immigration, read Charles Bowden's "Exodus."

He is the only candiate will the balls to close the southern border and save the nation from third worls status.
God help him....
If he fails we shall have civil war some decades from now..
You really think that closing the southern border (by rebuilding the Berlin wall in Texas?) will save this nation from third world status?
That isn't going to stop the exportation of all our good jobs. It won't reduce our huge debt, nor slow it's steady increase. It won't reduce our dependence on the rest of the world to supply us with the things (necessary and otherwise) that we consume at such an alarming rate.
It's going to take a lot more than building walls (which used to be associated with freedom-hating tyrannical regimes) to save this nation from it's fall. My fear for the future of my children and grandchildren has nothing to do with immigration. The legacy that we are creating for them will leave them with enough problems to deal with.

Miami IS like a third world nation! Have you ever been there?! Why is that racist? Now perhaps if you had qualified your guilt ridden comment by pointing out that Cubans can’t manage to run a government in Florida either and it’s probably because they tend to be racist conservative fascists themselves. Oh, but I forgot, perhaps they are an officially criticism-protected minority and you can’t say this.
