MoJo Video: Economist Nomi Prins on Death and Taxes

Mother Jones writer (and former Bear Stearns analyst) Nomi Prins asks students at St. Francis college in New York: What will you do with your Bush stimulus rebate check?

Keep debt at bay, mostly. Watch the video.

Thanks to Lavell Chichester, who filmed and edited the video.

Interesting. But can the hip hop inspired muzak score. It was hard to actually hear what people were saying.

I still maintain that the IRS is behind this "file this year & you have a chance to 'win' up to $600 cash back!" ploy.

its hilarious that nobody talks about it that way. Just like nobody talks about how McCain is successfully innoculated against a joint Romney/Huckabee ticket because of the LDS arrests. I mean, they had informants for 4 years, but picked a few weeks before Huckabee's 'tax is bad' high season?

really? http://thiscanadian.typepad.com/this_canadian/2008/04/lds-arrests-mcc.html

As for what to do with that 'refund' or whatever you wanna call that bizarre 'economic stimulus package'...

I recommend that people buy a small, portable personal solar array.

...the kind that can power your small electronics, you know, the kind you use during emergencies or just carting around for entertainment.

TreeHugger had a recommendation, that I'd like to pass along.

I have no intention of collecting the "rebate" from the "stimulous package". I'm on disability and have not had to pay federal income tax for several years, therefore I do not consider myself eligible for any sort of refund or any other government by gimmick stunts pulled by the Bush Maladministration!

I'm going to donate mine to the Obama campaign. That's the most effective way to stimulate the economy.
