"There are so many opportunity costs in the form of policy attention being so narrowly focused on Iraq. A lot of other problems, including the Arab-Israeli conflict, have been left to fester. The next administration will have to spend a lot of time and effort catching up and getting the United States back to where it was a few years ago in terms of engagement and credibility."
