Conspiracy Watch: The Amero

THE CONSPIRACY: Secret plans are afoot to merge the United States into an E.U.-like union with Canada and Mexico. The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, a trade agreement being discussed between George W. Bush and our neighbors, is actually a cover for a soon-to-be-formed single North American Union. Dollars and pesos will be replaced with a new North American currency called the "Amero." The new "superstate" would erase the current borders, leading to a flood of former Mexicans into the region once known as the United States.
THE CONSPIRACY THEORISTS: Jerome Corsi, coauthor of Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry, who's managed to enlist the sympathies of Minuteman founder Jim Gilchrist and anti-immigration Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.). And Rep. Virgil Goode (R-Va.), who introduced a bill last September stating the United States should not enter into said North American Union.
MEANWHILE, BACK ON EARTH: The spp is real, but it's a run-of-the-mill free-trade program along the lines of nafta. The idea for a single North American currency has been floated by academics, but that's it.

19 State Legislatures have summited anti-NAU bills, the highway projects are already under construction, China has more than a modicum of control over our dollar, our borders are in question, Border Patrol really are being prosecuted at the request of the Mexican consulate. Isn't it getting a little difficult to pass this conspiracy off as a theory?
To publish an article this dismissive of what is really happening is a disservice to the American public.

Hi Peeps, Hate to break it to anyone that is reading this, but it is entirely accurate. I don't believe it will take long to "roll-out" the new AMERO and its associated policies. Be prepared people, it's going to happen sooner or later and the top half of the world (if not all) will one day be governed by one gonvernment including the the United Goverment itself, Euro, China, etc...
This will happen!

Sorry, Dave, but you fail.
the SPP is the precursor to the NAU, fashioned in the exact same manner as the EU (which, if we care to recall, also started as a "free trade" agreement and evolved into much more).
Look a little closer at the facts, Dave. For all the others that see the writing on the wall and have posted here: KEEP GETTING THE WORD OUT!

From the comments, seems some people already have their tinfoil hats firmly secured. Personally, I think a NAU is a awesome idea, but have enough Canadian friends to know it won't happen for decades. But if or when it does, it should indeed follow the model of the EU - complete with a representative legislature to check agreements between executive which even I'll agree should have democratic oversight.

think about it, maybe is all the way around, maybe because the new currency will strength mexico's economy leading thousands of former mexicans out of the country, remember NAFTA when NAFTA was created mexico's, canada's, and US economy was awesome.
