Republican Dede Scozzafava (which might mean "tainted beans" in Italian) showed moxie yesterday. The far right had sent up and promoted an extremist to run against her and the Democrat. Sarah Palin, Fred Thompson, and others endorsed and pumped large sums into this candidacy, perverting the small Upstate NY congressional race. On Saturday, Dede dropped out, and yesterday endorsed the Democrat. I can’t recall ever seeing anything like this. It says something about the state of the Republican party right now. They are in internal insurrection. But tomorrow, thanks to Scozzafava, the tea-baggers will lose. Wasabi, anyone?
