Bernie Sanders Has a Message for Hillary Clinton

In her new book, she claimed the Vermont senator created “lasting damage” during the campaign.

Sen. Bernie Sanders fired back at Hillary Clinton on Thursday, after an excerpt from her forthcoming book revealed this week that she blames the Vermont senator with creating “lasting damage” on her campaign.

“Secretary Clinton ran against the most unpopular candidate in the history of this country,” he told Stephen Colbert. “And she lost, and she was upset about it, and I understand that. But our job is really not to go backward. It is to go forward.”

“I think it’s a little silly to keep talking about 2016. We’ve got too many problems.”

He also asked Colbert if he would share his message with Clinton when she appears on the Late Show to promote her memoir next week.

“Let’s go forward with a progressive agenda. Ask her if she will do that.”

Our news will always be free to read, watch, and listen to online. But what is its value?

Unbiased reporting on the issues that billionaire-owned newsrooms won’t touch. Fearless research into the dark corners of government and corporations. Ferociously fact-checked news that focuses on the facts, and the facts alone.

It IS free for you and every reader, viewer, and listener to utilize. But it’s not free for our team to make. So, what’s it worth to you? Let us know by making a donation: Make a one-time donation today to support this work. Or make a monthly sustaining donation to help us plan for the future.
