Let’s Talk Clinton: Eugene McCarthy

“Fire all the Rhodes and Oxford scholars and everyone from Arkansas.”

. . . next luminary . . .

Clinton should give up being governor of the United States, which he ran for, and be president. Crime control and welfare reform and education are state and local problems. Do something about basic disorders in society, like debt and jobs.

Fire the Rhodes and Yale and Oxford scholars and everyone from Arkansas. You can’t run the country with a clique.

Get a new secretary of state instead of a direct descendant of John Foster Dulles by way of Dean Rusk and Cyrus Vance. It’s like a biblical succession. Democrats retreat to the foreign policy establishment and it goes nowhere.”

IT'S TIME TO TALK ABOUT MEDIA BIAS

We believe that journalism needs to stand for something right now. That the press is the enemy of secrecy and corruption. That reporting without a sense of right and wrong only helps liars and propagandists succeed. And that we're in this fight for the long haul.

So we're hoping to raise $30,000 in new monthly donations this fall. Read our argument for journalism that is fair and accurate and stands for something—and join us with a tax-deductible monthly donation (or make a one-time gift) if you agree.
