Let’s Talk Clinton: Michael Dorris

. . . next luminary . . .

He’s doing an honorable job, and he’s strong. His informed support doesn’t waver with the daily news. He shouldn’t try to please everyone, should act like a second-term president. Trust his humane instincts and ’60s idealism.

Finally, he should make prioirity lists and not get diverted from the order. What would he like to look back on with pride 25 years from now, and what doesn’t matter? He has to stand back and find his own perspective and prioirities.

Mother Jones was founded as a nonprofit in 1976 because we knew corporations and the wealthy wouldn't fund the type of hard-hitting journalism we set out to do.

Today, reader support makes up about two-thirds of our budget, allows us to dig deep on stories that matter, and lets us keep our reporting free for everyone. If you value what you get from Mother Jones, please join us with a tax-deductible donation today so we can keep on doing the type of journalism 2018 demands.
