One would think that after the initial embarrassment caused by the discovery that Ivanka and Eric Trump failed to register as Republicans in time for the New York primary, Donald Trump’s adult children would be organized to vote for their father in the general election without any complications. Alas, on Tuesday, Eric Trump proved he couldn’t miss an opportunity to screw up, when he proudly tweeted the following photo:

The ill-advised image, which is in fact illegal and could bring a $1,000 fine and a year in jail, has since been deleted. If we’re lucky, this will be the last time ever that Eric Trump is newsworthy.

THANK YOU.

We recently wrapped up the crowdfunding campaign for our ambitious Mother Jones Corruption Project, and it was a smashing success. About 10,364 readers pitched in with donations averaging $45, and together they contributed about $467,374 toward our $500,000 goal.

That's amazing. We still have donations from letters we sent in the mail coming back to us, so we're on pace to hit—if not exceed—that goal. Thank you so much. We'll keep you posted here as the project ramps up, and you can join the hundreds of readers who have alerted us to corruption to dig into.
